Product Description - BRP Base is manufactured from “rubberized thermoplastic”, with the highest quality additives and colorants designed to meet and exceed the performance requirements OfASTM F-1861-98, Type TS, Group 1(solid), Standard Specifications for Resilient Wall Base and Federal Specifications #SS-W-40a.

Physical Characteristics: Size: 4" high by 5/16" thick, 1/4 coved profile with a 3 1/4" long by 5/16" thick Base shoe with 1/4" coved profile nominal. Back surface with textured panels for glueing surface, with square 1/8"X 1/2" vents(16 per 4' length).Length 4'

Coating / Cleaning

BRP Vent Cove Base is designed to be used with floating hardwood athletic flooring systems / timber sprung flooring.

These types of systems have an air pocket between the hardwood and the concrete underneath due to the inclusion of cushions / pads to give the flooring its bounce.

It it critical to keep this space vented in order to reduce moisture & humidity that can become trapped in the space as the wood draws moisture from any breach in the water barrier.

Venting also allows the air system of the facility to passively dehumidify.

Installation

Before

Finish all other trades in or around surfaces to receive BRP Cove Base.

Areas should be clean, fully enclosed & watertight.

We recommend letting the base acclimate to new, conditioned environment before installation.

Prep

Prep your wall & back of the base to remove debris & provide a clean surface to insure long lasting adhesion.

Adhesive

Our recommended adhesive is oil-based construction adhesive. This includes Liquid Nails - Heavy Duty, Gorilla Heavy Duty, DAP HD Max, Loctite PL Premium & Powergrab. Other PVC/Vinyl compatible adhesives will work as well (Henry 440 among others).

Base can also be mechanicaly fastened to wall as required.

Corners

Miter or used provided pre-molded outside corners. Cutting can be completed by chop saw or hot knife.

BRP Base has a satin black finish designed to be utilitarian & complement the rest of the flooring system.

Base can be cleaned with mild soap & soft rag. Do not use highly abrasive methods or intense cleaners
